How we move TIP frames

Challenge

The TIP-frames came without packaging and frames have a complex configuration requiring special equipment for loading into a sea container.

The shipper had no special equipment to load the frames into a container at his premises, therefore we had to look around for a handling terminal to handle the loading into a container.

Because of cargo dimensions of 1 Frame LxWxH – (3.57 x 1.46 x 2.53 m) and the request was to load 6 Frames in one container (as per photos) - we had to find reliable vendors in Poland, to help us to handle this shipment from the Ahlers Klaipeda office.

We decided to use the Stevedoring terminal in Gdansk (348 km away from the loading place), because only this terminal confirmed the possibility to load cargo as per the customers' requirements.

Routing

Goleniow, Poland – Gdansk  Terminal (restuffing) – Gdynia Port – Tianjin, China
The shipper had no special equipment to load the frames into a container at his premises, we helped to identify a handling terminal to handle the loading into a container. The first port of choice was Szczecin, 20 km away from the loading place, but with no equipment available to load them into a container, we used the Stevedoring terminal in Gdansk (348 km away).

Lashing and securing cargo

To fit 6 units (3 sets) of TIP Frames we needed to dismantle some small parts

We needed to secure all parts in a container

Full inspection of lashing and securing of cargo was made.
