Ahlers marked a new milestone in Uzbekistan by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade to explore the development of a logistics hub in Tashkent or Samarkand. We sat down with her to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the US and Canadian markets, and what Ahlers brings with its “boots on the ground.”

This case highlights a long-time journey to transport massive steel plant equipment from Gijón, Spain, to Dunkirk, France. With the actual planning starting in February 2023, the project took more than 1,5 years and faced complex challenges that required custom-engineered solutions, including transport frames and overcoming tide restrictions.
