Podcast
This podcast is all about trends and innovations in supply chain and logistics. Our episode features Stefan Van Doorslaer explaining secure transportation and talking about technological innovations that will keep cargo safe both now and in the future.
You might think that using guards or technology to secure a truck during transport is only done for valuable cargo, like iPhones or Playstations…
You will be surprised!
Heavily Guarded Shampoo
For different clients, Ahlers managers the safe transportation of goods for different clients. Ahlers focuses on CIS and China but operates outside of those regions as well. During the conversation LogisticsMatter had with Stefan about this, he explained that in those regions, trucks carrying simple day-to-day things like shampoo or cosmetics or cigarettes are usually well guarded.
The reason for this is because these goods are very common and easy to sell. Much easier than a truckload of iPhones or Playstations, which all have unique serial numbers that can be tracked.
Technological Innovations
Guards aren’t always effective, even if armed with Kalashnikovs, which can be the case in CIS. Criminals keep evolving their methods for stealing cargo. Just take a look at this video from the police in Romania.
Confronted with criminals with increasingly sophisticated methods, Ahlers developed their own security systems to protect cargo en route. In this episode Stefan talks about securing cargo and the security solution Ahlers developed. He also shares his thoughts on future technological developments in securing transportation.
“Did you know that Ahlers runs annually more > than 10000 secured transportations and has over 25 years’ specialized knowledge in transporting high-value cargo by road and rail in Eastern Europe, and Central Asia?”
Emergency in Supply Chain Security - Cargo crime increases daily, becoming more violent and sophisticated. Globally violent hijackings account for 24% of all cargo theft incidents. Do you have the right partner for the secured transport of your theft-sensitive goods?
