A day in in the life of Andrej Morozov

Andrej Morozov joined Ahlers as Assistant Operational Forwarding Manager in Klaipeda, Lithuania. Meet Andrej through a series of questions and answers.

Current job

  • What is your current position? Assistant Operational Forwarding Manager.
  • What responsibilities does it entail? I am responsible for coordination of cargo transportation (timely communication and informing of involved parties), tracking, order creation, data collection, documentation management.
  • What is an average day like in your current position?  Regular day in office – work with computer, communication with colleagues, phone calls, paperwork. Typical office work.

Beginnings

  • What is your (educational) background? 3 years of studying Sea Transport Logistics Technologies in Lithuanian Maritime Academy.
  • How did you get started in the industry? Well, it was spontaneous. I got invited by friend to learn and work as tanker ship agent assistant.
  • What positions have you held before this one? As I said previously,  I worked as ship agent assistant.
  • Do you have a mentor or someone that significantly helped you get to where you are today? Yes, these are my colleagues, who are teaching me. They are always free to answer any of my questions except for “When will they unload him?” which helps a lot.

Evolution

  • How has your field evolved since you began?
    By acquiring experience and new knowledge.
  • How do you see it evolving further? 
    By acquiring experience and new knowledge. Practice makes perfect.
  • What changes would you like to see? 
    Automatization of repetitive processes, with use of AI and TMS system.

  • What makes your company different from its competitors?
    Constant innovations, cooperation between different countries offices.

Social

  • What do you like most about your job?
    I am improving, and I can clearly see the progress.
  • What would you like people to know about your job?
    Structure and utilities of are evolving constantly here and management is open minded and open to listen to new ideas.
  • What do you think the industry could do to attract more youths?
    Ability to work remotely on constant basis, as long as it is possible and clear obligations and conditions are described, so workers can travel and be mobile overall.
  • What do you do when you are not in the office?
    I love doing sports, reading, learning new skills, hanging out with friends.
