With a new Transport Management System (TMS) at the core, we are building a data-driven logistics ecosystem that enhances visibility and control across global supply chains, even in the complex markets like Central Asia. In this interview, Dimitri Aerts, Corporate IT Director, shares the vision behind this transformation and what it means for our customers.

Ahlers marked a new milestone in Uzbekistan by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade to explore the development of a logistics hub in Tashkent or Samarkand. Ludivine Morbois, Project & Procurement Manager, has joined Ahlers to lead the company’s North American operations. Based in the US, she will play a key role in supporting Ahlers’ growing portfolio of American customers and strengthening its expertise in complex global project logistics. We sat down with her to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the US and Canadian markets, and what Ahlers brings with its “boots on the ground.”

This case highlights a long-time journey to transport massive steel plant equipment from Gijón, Spain, to Dunkirk, France. With the actual planning starting in February 2023, the project took more than 1,5 years and faced complex challenges that required custom-engineered solutions, including transport frames and overcoming tide restrictions.
