COO – Robert Mann has a background in Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain Management with an MBA from the Warwick Business School U.K
He has spent his career working in the U.K, Russia, and Eastern Europe in Business Development and Operational Management roles. Currently, he is the Group COO for Ahlers as well as the General Manager for the Russian organization. Robert started his career in the 1990s working for U.K based timber trading companies developing supply possibilities in Russia and the Baltic States. From 2002 he moved to work for the IKEA Group initially developing supply chain operations in Russia, Belarus, and Poland before working for IKEA’s own industrial group where from 2011 he took the leadership for the operational management of their manufacturing units in Russia.
Robert joined Ahlers in 2018 as the General Director for the Russian business and quickly developed the role to incorporate the function of Group COO taking responsibility for all operational functions in Western Europe, the CIS, and Baltic States. As part of this role, Robert has taken the lead in establishing a coordinated operational organization that works across borders to serve the clients of all Ahlers Business Units wherever they are located and whatever are their needs. He has been instrumental in the continued growth of the business, the establishment of the CIS regional head office in St. Petersburg, and the further expansion of Ahlers warehouse operations in Russia.
