Sales Hunter & Business Development Manager

Trade Facilitation is one of Ahlers four global business units that offer services beyond traditional logistics. The focus of our work is to provide an entire end-to-end supply chain service all the way from import to sales.

We are searching for a Sales Hunter & Business Development Manager, to join the Business Unit Trade Facilitation&After Sales Services.

Sales Hunter & Business Development Manager in Trade Facilitation & After Sales Services Business Unit will actively develop business by hunting new customers who want to review their Route to Market (RTM) to Russia & CIS. Meaning in a different way organizing their RTM and all the needed services for that, such as warehousing, transportation, customs, local back-office, local order handling and other value-added services. The target companies are International premium brands who are headquartered in WE and US.

Work Description

  • Promote the vision and strategy of the company keeping a strong pulse on customer and market developments and respond fast and effectively to market changes and opportunities
  • Identify, hunt and create new business opportunities focused on innovation and formulate new business models by leveraging customer needs. Generate new service ideas and facilitate development of new services
  • Participating in creating marketing strategies and analyzing the channels efficiency
  • Achieve sales objectives through identifying and attracting new customers for end to end supply chain solutions and also import and export, order to cash process and other accompanying services
  • Effectively plan and organize meetings with prospects on C-level
  • Drive the consultative selling of services and logistics solutions within Ahlers
  • Generate, qualify and manage leads & opportunities and accurate work with the CRM-tool
  • Provide accurate and verified data for sales forecasts and sales plans
  • Efficiently define service margins using quotations prepared by operations – in accordance with the pricing policy
  • Influence senior management, gain commitment and support for proposed ideas and handle objections through solid reasoning
  • Initiating the customer integration process

Location Moscow/Saint Petersburg/Benelux

Geography of search Russia and Benelux

Travelling Business trips are part of the position, both within Russia and Europe



  • University degree, field is irrelevant (preferably within business management or logistics)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years successful consultative hunting sales experience in International company
  • Practical experience in selling to C-level
  • At least 10 years’ experience in working with complex (supply chain) clients or processes
  • Good knowledge of modern warehousing services and multinational transport processes
  • Ability to build effective relations at all levels in the company
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a competitive business environment
  • Good knowledge of Russian business environment or at least 3 years track record of working in Russia
  • Good (upper – intermediate) level of business English


  • Good command of Russian is preferable
  • Background in consultancy
