Business Development Manager / Sales Hunter

Purpose & general responsibilities of the position:

Ahlers wants to further develop its activities in the Business Unit Warehousing&Onsite Logistics and is looking for a Business Development Manager/Sales Hunter to support our growth.  At this position you will be part of the Ahlers WH&OL commercial team: the focus is on developing new business and achieving sales objectives through identifying and attracting new clients for warehouse logistics, fulfillment operations and freight forwarding.

Specific responsibilities of the position:

  • Take regional sales and business development initiatives in Kazakhstan
  • Be responsible for achieving growth and accomplishing targets on new sales. Generate, qualify and manage leads & opportunities
  • Realize the realistic business plan in line with the company’s strategy to generate new recurrent business
  • Network according to the strategy and manage contacts and leads through the sales funnel
  • Identify market and client needs and create opportunities (for example: development of partnerships, attending professional exhibitions and events, managing incoming enquiries, through the existing network, customer appointments/meetings etc.)
  • Provide input for sales forecasts and plans
  • Initiate the customer integration process with account management team

Specific requirements of the position.

Our ideal Business Development Manager/Sales Hunter for WH&OL:

  • Active in a commercial role for minimum 5 years in logistics, experience in contract warehousing logistics is a plus
  • Has a strong commercial orientation. He/she is driven by results and is a professional negotiator. However, one of his/her main strengths is that he/she can listen carefully to the customers’ needs
  • Can easily identify and create new business opportunities by leveraging customer needs
  • Is reliable, confident, energetic and stress resistant
  • Has a good command of English is willing to travel on regular base
  • Knows how to work efficiently with a high-end CRM system.
