In all the Chinese junk collection of the Antwerp MAS consists of some 100 models built at the beginning of the 20th century for account of the Chinese emperor for participation in the world Expo in Saint-Louis in the US.

The collection is the most valuable Chinese junk collection in the world and gives an excellent overview of Chinese regional shipbuilding throughout the years.

To show some of these ancient models in the Shanghai Maritime Museum several companies were contacted and worked together.

Ahlers took care of forwarding and the documentation and cargo flow at both ends in Antwerp and Shanghai.
