Ahlers Belgium N.V., a Belgium based logistic service provider with corporate head-offices in Antwerp, has been awarded with the prestigious AEO-certificate by the Belgian Customs on January the 4th 2012. Ahlers obtained the certificate for her sites in Antwerp and Evergem (near Ghent) and for all integrated services offered by Ahlers Belgium (international forwarding, project & breakbulk, contract logistics and agencies).
Ahlers Belgium received the highest level of the certificate, the status AEO-F or Full AEO. The AEO-certificate has been given to Ahlers Belgium after several audits by the Belgian Customs, aiming to verify the compliancy with customs rules, safety standards and financial health.
Obtaining this certification means that both Ahlers and it’s customers will enjoy various privileges in connection with customs clearance procedures: fewer physical and document-based controls, priority when selected for an inspection, simplified procedures when applying for new customs licenses, etc. All this will finally lead to a faster and smoother movement of the goods.
By obtaining the AEO-F certification, Ahlers Belgium N.V. is considered to be a reliable partner to the Customs Authorities of the whole EU. Ahlers is now prepared to make fully use of new opportunities like Centralized Clearance, Green Lane procedures and other opportunities that will result from the implementation of the Modernized Customs Code.
