The European PetroChemical Association (EPCA) this year organized its annual meeting from Sunday 2 October until Tuesday 4 October in Berlin. This is a top-level-meeting of the international chemical industry. The Ahlers team met with several industry leaders to learn from their business and needs, to share views on growth plans and to discuss business opportunities.

More than 2,500 representatives of the more than 600 member companies coming from the chemical industry, associated partners and service companies gathered to follow panel discussions and seminars but above all to discuss business opportunities. Place of the event was in Berlin, spread over 5 hotels in meeting rooms and lobby’s, on terraces and in restaurants and during 2 evening networking events.

The Ahlers team started the preparation of this event already in July. The presence of our executive chairman Christian Leysen gave us the leverage to meet with Directors and VP’s, next to the regular business contacts. Meetings with industry leader from quite a number of chemical companies were held.

Towards these companies Ahlers expressed its commitment to further expand and invest in its service offering for the chemical industry. At the same time we took note of their goodwill when discussing our developments in Value Added Logistics - drumming services were of their main interest - at our new location in Antwerp.
