Ahlers continues to extend its activities in Ukraine. Having recently opened offices in Lviv and Donetsk, Ahlers will soon start as per December 1st logistic operations from the seaport of Odessa. This new office is the consequence of an outsourcing contract for warehousing and distribution facilities for an international customer. Ahlers has already own warehouses in Kharkiv and Dnepropetrovsk (resp. 11,000 m2 and 3,000 m2). On the new locations Ahlers operates rented facilities. Ahlers herewith proposes a platform for distribution. Employment in Ukraine will increase from 75 to 95 staff. Ahlers handles both local and international transport.
Christian Leysen, Executive Chairman of Ahlers: ‘Ukraine has great potential both on its local market and regarding the transit. We expect more political stability to further support the economic growth. We have been active in Ukraine for 11 years and are ready to assist the local and international transport flows with our expertise and our worldwide network of offices.’
Marc Eekels, General Manager of Ahlers Ukraine: ‘Ahlers Ukraine proposes solutions for container transport and project cargo. Only recently we carried material for drilling platforms from the Ukrainian inland to Dubai. Now that the economy is recovering, we expect to further position ourselves in this niche. We also propose security systems with ‘tracking and tracing’ facilities for land transportation.
Ahlers is present in 20 countries in Africa, Asia, CIS and Europe and employs more than 1000 people worldwide. Ahlers is active in four areas: agencies, forwarding, logistics and maritime services. Ahlers Ukraine was incorporated in 1999 and is active in 5 cities. Ahlers Ukraine employs 95 staff.
