Unilin (Quick Step) appointed Ahlers Logistics as its logistic partner in Russia /14 Apr 2009/
Start bicycle season is start own organization Unilin in Russia.Unilin Flooring, market leader in laminate floors, has entrusted Ahlers Logistics with the logistics of its products in Russia. As a consequence, Unilin comes a step closer to the Russian market. Recently the company announced its plans to strongly invest in Russia by setting up local operations.
As a first step, Unilin opens a local distribution center in Sint-Petersburg to ensure immediate and reliable product availability in the market. For this purpose Unilin has chosen Ahlers and the Ahlers Logistic Centre (ALC) in St. Petersburg as partner.
Decisive factors for the partnership were the door-to-door solutions, including the customs formalities for Russia, the local presence of Ahlers in St. Petersburg (since more than 16 years) and the WMS’s flexibility (Warehouse management system). Ahlers has a longstanding relationship with Unilin, Ahlers Forwarding having ensured in the past transport to North-America.
In May Ahlers will also inaugurate its 3rd warehouse in St. Petersburg.
