Governor of Antwerp and Vice-Governor of the Leningrad Oblast officially open ALC St Petersburg

On Monday August 28th, Ahlers inaugurated its new logistic centre in St Petersburg in the presence of the governor of the province of Antwerp and the vice governor of the Leningrad Oblast. At the current stage of the project, the logistic centre operates 25.000 m2 on a land infrastructure of the whole site of 200.000 m2 and represents a 23 million USD investment.

The logistic centre is strategically located near the new ring road and close to the airport and as such it will be connected to different transport links and modes, containing free storage facilities and full terminal infrastructure. In addition to storage and cargo handling, also value added services can be performed, and the distribution process is organized.

The warehouses, built according to the best international standards, are frost free and fully sprinklered, ventilated and equipped with a fire security system, a video-controlled alarm system and a warehouse management system. They can easily be reached thanks to a direct access from the ring road as well as a rail connection.

The warehouse was officially opened with a nice party. Present were some 100 guests, including staff, officials and several customers, who all enjoyed a fantastic evening. Both governors, Christian Leysen and Vladimir Odintsov addressed the guests, and then were entertained with life music and a great show.
