On Thursday May 27th 2004, ITMMA (Institute of Transport and Maritime Management Antwerp) organised the closing ceremony of the academic year 2003-2004. A traditionally festive event with interesting speeches of Baron Leo Delwaide, Alderman of the Port of Antwerp and Luc Bertrand, President of Ackermans & van Haaren. In two bright spreeches both gentlemen stressed the importance of talent, excellence centres and innovation for the future of the port.
After the announcement of the graduated students, several awards were granted.
We were proud to hand over the The Ahlers Award for the 7th time.


The winners 2003-2004 are: Mrs Rose-Marie Pype (Belgium) for her excellent results (cum laude) and her thesis on "Anti-counterfeiting measures and impact on supply chain" and Mr Jorge Hernandez (Puerto Rico, the U.S.A.) for his excellent results (cum laude) and his thesis on "Modal choice and logistics cost: a sensitivy analysis using the inventory theoretic model".
