Astra Logistics awarded with ISO 14001-96 and OHSAS 18001-99 certificate /22 May 2003/

After having completed a four days certification audit on 24th of april, the 2nd, the 5th and the 6th of May 2003, Bureau Veritas Quality International awarded an ISO 14001-96 and OHSAS 18001-99 certificate to Astra Logistics, division of Ahlers Bridge N.V. The certificate was awarded for the Environmental Management System and Occupational Health and Safety Management System for the warehousing and distribution activities.

In his comments, Mr Franck Monteyne, Lead Auditor of BVQI, states that the environmental and safety management system of Astra Logistics is very well structured. He also mentions that the study of and the methodology used to list all the aspects of safety and environment meet an extraordinary standard of quality.

The Environmental Management System and Occupational Health and Safety Management System of Astra Logistics was achieved under the inspiring direction of Mrs Heidi van Nieuwenhove, HSE manager of Astra Logistics, and Mrs Eva Enödy of Ecolas, Evironmental Coördinator of Astra Logistics.
But of course, the certification would never have been successfull if the The Environmental Management System and Occupational Health and Safety Management System was not supported and executed in a very conscientious way by all of the staff of Astra Logistics.

With the ISO 14001-96 and OHSAS 18001-99 certificate, Astra Logistics wants to emphasise more than ever before, the importance she attaches to the environmental and safety aspects of her activities in warehousing and distribution.
