Ahlers secures NVOCC licence in China /21 Oct 2002/
Ahlers Asia Pte Ltd Singapore, a part of Antwerp based Ahlers LMS group, announces that they have obtained the NVOCC license from the Ministry of Communication of China.hlers Asia Pte Ltd Singapore, a subsidiary of the Antwerp based Ahlers LMS group, announces that they have obtained the NVOCC license from the Ministry of Communication of China.
The license permits Ahlers Asia Pte Ltd and their China JV Sibelcon Shanghai to carry out logistic and ocean freight forwarding operations in China as well as issue Bill of Ladings at any Chinese port.
The Belgian Ahlers group has established a network of own offices in CIS, China , Central Asia and South East Asia and is providing logistic and maritime solutions to their customers active in the respective trades.
Recently the group decided to build a new warehouse (70.000 sqm) in St-Petersburg (Russia) and a new warehouse (20.000 sqm) in Ghent (Belgium), ideal locations to provide distribution - and SCM services in Western Europe and CIS.
The group, together with their Chinese partner, is also studying a project to increase their activities in China through an acquisition of a Chinese logistic group active in various ports in China.
The license will strengthen the group's position in China and reflects our aim in providing our customers with dedicated and one stop shopping services in the fastest growing logistic market in the world.
