Astros has got a privilege to bring the whole production line to Nizhni Novgorod for Glaverbel, largest manufacturer of the flat glass in Europe.

Glaverbel – second largest producer of the flat glass in Europe, leader in advanced glass technology (coated glass, thin glass and other glass products for the industrial sectors) conducted a tender in which the winner, one of the transportation companies, would get a privilege to bring the whole production line to Nizhni Novgorod. It started implementing a strategy of international growth with the creation of new units and the acquisition of companies in Western Europe. Glaverbel is the first western glassmaker investing in Russia. For the last few years company has strengthened its position in the global market and remarkably expanded its activity in Russia and Eastern Europe.

This year Astros has taken part in this tender and became a winner. One of the requirements was to present to a customer a full range of quality international logistic services including add value services.

Company succeeded due to the proposed cargo tracking & tracing system as an additional contribution to the whole required logistics package. Tracking and tracing system will create a visibility of managing process and provide timely and accurate information taken from internal shipment monitoring system. Client can request information on the status of shipment by choosing either booking reference number, bill of loading or container number. This service was of particular interest to the company seeking to gain maximum effectiveness from their transportation provider.

Once all arrangements are done, Astros will start its shipments of manufacturing equipment from Germany, Italy, Belgium, Japan and China. Everything will go via St. Petersburg by all means of transportation including railroad, vessels, trucks and air transport. Most part of cargo is going to be refractors and non-refractors.
