Opening of private type bonded warehouse for SEB /17 Jun 2010/

'SEB Vostok Group' opened bonded warehouse in the Ahlers ALC in St Petersburg.

During the second half of 2009 our long-term client “SEB VOSTOK Group” made the decision to open a bonded warehouse of private type in the region of operations of Saint-Petersburg Customs.

Ahlers, a logistic operator always offering and providing a full range of services, suggested its premises for the organization of the bonded area in the newly opened warehouse building Gamma.

To comply with local customs' requirements, the bonded area was hedged at a height of 12 meters (operational height of the warehouse) similar to the mezzanine section of the warehouse. Moreover Ahlers made significant investments in the purchase and installation of new narrow-aisle racks (total capacity of 6250 pallets) as well as in the extension of its video system and the adaptation of its warehouse management system to fulfill customs' requirements.

The warehouse successfully passed the inspection of customs' authorities and on 18th March, 2010 was officially enlisted by Saint-Petersburg Customs into the Register of bonded warehouses owners. In the beginning of May the first container with goods was successfully accepted for storage. With this initiative and organization of the bonded warehouse within its premises, Ahlers has once again proved its corporate flexibility and readiness to act in line and with the clients’ needs.
