Update on building of third warehouse in St Petersburg /22 Oct 2008/
Important milestone in building process of new St Petersburg warehouse.
This week the pouring of the floor in the new warehouse in St Petersburg has started. When building a warehouse, one of the crucial items is the floor.
Not only the strength of the floor (tons/sqm) is important, but also the flatness.
The new warehouse will have a free height of 12 meters, with narrow aisle racks installed to increase the storage capacity compared to a traditional racking system. Narrow aisle racks mean very limited tolerances between goods and equipment, and this can only be realized with a very flat floor.
The coming month is of utmost importance in the total building process and before winter time we will finish this important phase of the construction.
From Q2 2009 the new warehouse will be operational. The design will fit all types of consumer goods: europallets, boxes and pieces for medium and fast movers.
