On Wednesday night August 8th, Tiananmen Square turned into a festival of jubilation as people from across China and from around the world gathered to celebrate the one-year countdown to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Ahlers is the Belgian sailing team's logistic provider and as sailors will start pre-olympic races in Qingdao already this month, containers with boats and sailing gear were stuffed at the EDC (European Distribution Center, Evergem) in June and arrived well in Qingdao earlier this week.
Ever so important of course is the fact that both Sebbe Godfroid and Carolijn Brouwer (class: Tornado), as well as Evi Van Acker (class: Laser radial) have already qualified to compete in the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
